This expertise enables us to innovate and develop tailored energy solutions and products, helping our customers decarbonize their businesses.As a member of Shell Energy Analysis & Design CC, you will work as an SME closely with business and IT stakeholders to define and shape future solutions within the Gas & Power portfolios. This role demands extensive experience in Commodity Trading and Trading Operations within the Gas sector. A thorough understanding of both intrinsic and extrinsic factors affecting complex valuations and modelling is essential.What You’ll Be DoingAs a Lead Energy Trading Business Analyst and SME in the domain, you will be aligned with a specific commodity (Power, Gas, or Environmental Products) and/or a specific functional area (such as Front, Middle, or Back-Office). You will be responsible for leading the identification and documentation of business needs, starting with problem statements, collaborating with technical teams to explore feasible solution options. In the strategic ETRM program, you will oversee the business analysis activities for your workstream from inception through to delivery.Your role will vary depending on the specific area of expertise, however typically you would perform the following day to day activities:Interacting with traders/ desks on challenges needs, working within IDT stakeholders on business case and opportunity shapingPlanning, delivery, and assurance of business analysis deliverables on multiple programmesDriving and managing scope and design for a workstream, including assessing the risks, feasibility, opportunities, and business impacts of various solution optionsPoint of escalation for issues within your workstreamCoaching and mentoring of the wider business analysis teamGenerating innovative approaches to existing problems or new opportunitiesStakeholder management – building relationships with key stakeholders, keeping them informed and managing expectationsWhat You BringAs a Business Analyst with substantial experience in Energy Trading that seeks a significant challenge and an opportunity to grow their careers as part of a team intent on pushing the boundaries of Energy Trading and Risk Management. That team sits at the core of an industry leading organisation at the very heart of the energy transition, helping to ensure a brighter future for everyone.Proven track record of delivering projects through the entire lifecycleExpertise in shaping processes and solutions, including capturing business problems, value drivers, and functional/non-functional requirementsStrong leadership, analytical skills, and change management capabilitiesDemonstrable stakeholder management skills, confidently engaging with stakeholders at various organizational levels and providing legitimate challengesExperience in performing quality assurance roles on workstream deliverablesProficiency in Agile and DevOps deliveryGreat Team Player and ability to adapt, change and learn quicklyStrong business analysis techniques and skill sets – design thinking, requirements and needs analysis, planning & monitoring, behavior driven development, business case writing, external market research analysis, business process modelling, wireframing, estimation techniques, data analysis/analytics but not limited to.Energy Trading ExperienceYou must have an extensive experience in energy trading markets, with a strong understanding of one of the following markets considered an advantage:European Power, European Gas, and/or Environmental products.Hands-on and susbtantial knowledge of different trading instruments, including:OTC transactions – forwards, swaps, and simple options.Exchange-traded futures & options lifecycle, including cascading.Substantial knowledge of the following functional areas:Trade capture – complex deal modeling and pricing.Market RiskRisk ValuationBack-Office processesAccounting processesMigrating between ETRM systemsETRM/CTRM ExperienceIdeal candidates will have extensive hands on ETRM/CTRM experience.Endur skills are considered a must, as this program offers a fantastic opportunity to build or grow skills in this area.Hands-on configuration experience with vendor applications is also considered an advantage.Experience with Integration technologies and approach with ETRM systems is a mustWhat We OfferYou bring your skills and experience to Shell and in return you work with talented, committed people on one of the most important challenges facing our planet.
